INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL (INSTITUTIONAL)

Strategic Planning … Product Development … Marketing … Management

Twenty-plus year record of success in strategic business management, and in the development and marketing of institutional investment products valued in the tens of billions of dollars.

On the Executive Committee with Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO), coordinated firm-wide strategic planning, product development and analysis of new markets. In CFO/COO-type role, collaborated with the CEO, the CIO and executive group in all aspects of managing and growing the firm from $18 billion to over $150 billion in my ten years with the firm.

Created semi-autonomous business unit within PIMCO to develop structured products for the defined contribution market. In five years, grew the business unit’s AUM from zero to over $6.0 billion (representing a full third of PIMCO's new assets over that 5-year period). Personally brought several prestigious new clients to the firm, including Westinghouse, IBM, and DuPont.

Additionally, as PIMCO’s primary liaison to Pacific Life, developed several billion dollars of investment products sold through the insurance company.

Most recently, after a brief semiretirement (I am in my forties), have been involved in a number of asset management start-ups, investment banking ventures and consulting projects.
