Bordering on the edge of surreal, Chuck’s dramatic landscapes are inspired by his extended trips to Southeast Asia and his scuba diving adventures in the South Pacific. These ultra-vivid paintings capture idealized moments in time at idyllic locations around the world. Utilizing large canvases and levels of detail uncommon in today's world of commercial art, each painting can represent an investment of hundreds of hours of focused effort. In taking a several-year sabbatical from his chosen profession as a senior executive in the investment management field (with PIMCO), Chuck was able to pursue his life-long interest in art and to channel his creativity into these oil and acrylic paintings of exotic landscapes and scenes of nature. Taking up painting in 2000, his art quickly evolved from a hobby into a passion, and has been a primary focus for the last couple of years. Chuck is self-taught and plans to refocus on his art when he eventually retires from the investment management field in another 10 or 20 years.
